“Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney and Wings.
“Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney and Wings.
“I Wish I Was the Moon” by Neko Case. This is one of those songs that will hang with me for hours after hearing it. People have been known to get it stuck in their heads after hearing me humming it.
“One Way Or Another” performed by Debbie Harry on The Muppet Show.
“Still the One” by Orleans (and on Solid Gold yet!) I was devoted to this show when it was on despite it being a little beyond my maturity level. This is just such a fun bubbly song I can’t resist.
“Toy Soldier” by Riverdogs. I absolutely love the line “there’s a hole in my pocket where my only hope of changes keeps falling through.” Also, the toy soldier on his rocking horse reminds me of one of my all time favorite short stories, The Rocking Horse Winner” by D. H. Lawrence.
Bette Midler’s “I’m Beautiful.” More of a personal anthem than a love song. Scratch that. It’s a love song to one’s self.
“I Believe In a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. Without the video this is just a great song. With the video this is fabulous entertainment. Any band that can out-Queen Queen has got to be good. I’m pretty sure these guys watched Spinal Tap and took it as a challenge.
“Shine Like It Does” by INXS. Illusive and emotive. Plus I love the fact that Micheal Hutchins is in shadow so much. Sort of foreshadowing.
“Here Comes My Girl” Tom Petty And the Heartbreakers. Enjoy!
“If You Could Only See” by Tonic. This is one of those songs that just makes me feel warm and fuzzy every time I hear it. Enjoy!
