I hadn’t read any LeGuin until it was assigned in class, but I’m going to have to rectify that shortly. The Left Hand Of Darkness was amazing. More amazing was the rejection letter LeGuin posted on her website. If I had ever gotten that letter, I’d have taken up the oboe and never written another word! Highly recommended.
Thanks for the rec–I haven’t read anything by her since I was a kid and I think it’s time to start again!
I was under the impression that she fell in with Piers Anthony who I didn’t like, but I was very wrong. I’m looking forward to digging into her catalog.
I’ve never heard of this author. Guess I need to expand my horizons.
I had heard of her, but I shelved genre at Borders for a while.
